''Gonocerus acuteangulatus'' is a herbivorous species of true bug in the family Coreidae. It is commonly known as the box bug in the UK as it once only occurred in Box Hill in Surrey where it fed on box trees. It is a medium-sized speckled reddish-brown insect, between 11 to 14 mm long as an adult, with a slightly expanded abdomen.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=British Bugs )〕 It commonly occurs throughout the Mediterranean region and extends to Central Asia and parts of northwestern Europe.
